Nutrition Program

"Nutrition Program -- The Overbrook Growth Committee in conjunction with the East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging (ECKAAA) is offering a Nutrition Program dedicated to meeting nutritional needs to citizens 60 years and older in Overbrook. We currently provide hot meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays; the meals are delivered to the Overbrook Housing Authority Community Center where participants pick up their meal. Donations of $3.50 per meal are encouraged; however, no one will be denied if unable to donate. For more information, please contact Hanna Smith at 1-785-393-2246 or by email hanneuiu@hotmail.com or stop by the Overbrook Housing Authority Community Center on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 11:30am and 12:00pm."

Flood Safety Week March 6th-10th.

KDA-DWR coordinates with the Kansas Department of Emergency Management (KDEM) as well as the National Weather Service (NWS) and governor’s office to pass a proclamation signed by the governor to recognize flood safety week in the month of March each year. It is a collaborative effort to raise awareness during the start of flood season. The week deliberately coincides with the NWS Severe Weather Awareness week, which includes the threat of other hazards in addition to flooding.
