Don’t be afraid to call

With cold weather comes the possibility of icy roads, the Police Department also encourages drivers to keep an emergency kit in their vehicle and allow extra time for travel. Police officers also offer jump starts for dead batteries in cold weather. Just call (785) 665-7230.

Heading out of town?

The Police Department is happy to swing by your house and keep an extra eye on things while you’re away. If you’d like this service, just stop by City Hall or the Police Station to fill out a quick form before your trip.

School back in session

The Overbrook Police Department would like to remind drivers that the Overbrook Attendance Center will resume classes on January 8 and the school zone speed limit will again be in effect from 7 AM-8 AM and 3 PM-4 PM Monday-Friday. Let's all do our part to keep kids safe!

The Police Department reminds citizens to lock cars and doors during the holiday season. There is unfortunately often an increase in thefts and burglaries during this season. If you notice suspicious activity, call (785) 665-7230 or 911 in an emergency.
