We will try to show Reservations on the community calendar on the What's Happening! link.If you or your organization do any work at the city lake such as mowing, trimming, picking up trash, etc. please let City Hall know. That information can be provided as part of reports that we provide to the State. Thank you for your help!
ALL DOGS AND CATS OVER 6 MONTHS OLD ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO HAVE A CITY LICENSE AND PROOF OF RABIES VACCINATION. THE CITY LICENSES ARE DUE ON JANUARY 1st OF EACH YEAR. The Animal Control Officer has been instructed to keep records of all animals picked up. All dogs and cats WITHOUT a current city tag picked up by the Animal Control Officer will be taken to Carbondale Pet Clinic (785-836-7212) and citations will be issued for "no city tag" and "animal at large." If you are unable to come to City Hall during regular office hours, send proof of rabies vaccination and the fee to City Hall, Box 288, Overbrook, KS 66524; or leave it in the City Hall drop box. License and tags will be mailed to you.

Drinking water is tested daily by your City Superintendent, and tested twice a month by the State.
All sidewalks located on your property are YOUR responsibility. Also, all trees on your property are YOUR responsibility.
The City of Overbrook has a "Leash Law" that states no cats or dogs are to run free. All cats and dogs must be on a leash or in a fenced secure area when outside.
The city lake no longer requires a City License. You must have a State License if you are 16 years of age or older. Senior Citizens who meet the State regulations can fish free.
The city has a grass/weed cut ordinance. Any grass or weeds over 18" must be mowed. If a property owner allows grass/weeds to exceed 18" he/she will receive a certified letter explaining a timeline for cutting.
Property owners who want to erect a new building, or an expansion to an existing building, must have a Building Permit from the City of Overbrook. Building Permit FAQ
City Council meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of every month, and are open to the public. If you would like to be on the agenda, and speak at the council meeting, make arrangements with the City Clerk by sending an email to: cityclerk@overbrookks.com or call 665-7328. Copies of the minutes are available by request at City Hall, or you can click the Governing Body to access the most recent ones online.
